Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL
wicked lasers produce great lasers, don't get me wrong, but they just have horrible customer support and their products are freakin expensive. If you really want an average laser for a premium price from people who don't give a sh** about you, go...
10mW is perfectly visible at night. If you cannot see the beam of a up to spec 10mW, the area you are in is too bright. Either it will be hard to point out what you want to see (eg: stars), or it will be harmful to others (bright areas=populated areas=cities=people)
If it is your first laser, I think 30mW is overkill. Consider a lower powered one. It may not seems as much fun, but unless you get experience (and eye protection), you may seriously hurt yourself or the people you are trying to impress
The foggier/dustier the night, the more visible the beam, but the beam will have a lot shorter viewing path. On a clear night, the beam will be visible for a long distance, but due to the lower particles in the air, it will be less visible.
yes, you could have put the batteries in incorrectly, or just may have a faulty unit, never trust DinoDirect, I was scammed multiple times from them, not just with lasers
I've seen many slightly larger green lasers from focalprice and tmart that run on 2 AA batteries, which are a lot easier to find that many others (including leeching AAA's from remotes).
Ex:50mW 532nm Super Bright Flashlight Style Green Laser Pointer (2*AA) - Tmart.com
Did anyone buy these...
Re: The worlds most powerful handheld 445..... 3.5W 2 LD array
A newbie like myself would only dream of getting anywhere near 200 miles of that laser (or whatever the beam length would be...)
.... on second thought, maybe not
I saw styropyro's video of building a burning laser without soldering:
YouTube - DIY: How to Build a Burning Laser Without any Soldering!
I'm interested in creating a weaker pointer that does not need the ability to burn (about 30-50mW)
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get...
