When I showed my parents my 5mW, they thought it was BRIGHT, and said it made their eyes hurt when they looked at it on a white wall for too long.
My eyes were fine, but maybe it's because I KNEW that 5mW is eye safe...idk
I know, I had the idea that pot modding the Lyra would be just removing the button and tweezing the potentiometer, but apparently that is not the case.
Yeah, so I take the hammer, CRUSH the Lyra, then throw it into a cylindrical bin. And that will make my 5mW laser turn into a BURNING MONSTER that will light matches at will :D All right, I give up.
Thanks all, RA_Pierce especially, who has helped answer my former noobish questions very patiently, and since I know almost nothing about the Lyra, I guess I won't mess with it.
I can always get a X15 from Nova if I really want the better beam specs...
Thanks, but I have heard that CNI lasers are usually pot modded to half their normal maximum capacity, if I COULD pot mod this Lyra, that would be awesome.
However, if that means possibly sacrificing the life of this laser, then of course I will stop.
Just got it today, it works fine but 5mW seems so low for it being such a smexy laser :D...and I heard someone modded the Rigel, so how do I mod this?
I have like no knowledge about playing w/ lasers so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
OK, I purchased a 20mW Evolution Pro with goggles just two days ago.
Right now, I want to refund it because I've just found the GREAT 70% off deal on NovaLasers.
How do I refund it? I know it hasn't been shipped yet because I haven't received a tracking number.
I've emailed them, but so far no...
Yeah, I was kind of reluctant to even consider purchasing from Wicked Lasers, but the X15 is sold out at the moment, and I'm not sure when it will come back into stock...does anyone know any info about this?
Also, thanks for the quick replies guys!
I am considering one of these lasers, probably the 25mW version, but what is the quality difference between these two?
Wicked Lasers claim that Evo Pros are made up of Aircraft-grade Aluminum, while Nova...well I don't know what they're made of, although I've heard they're made from CNI.
Also...
I am deciding between these two lasers, and I'm leaning towards the Nova with its more powerful output but I'm worried about accidentally hurting myself or others. Are goggles necessary for outputs above 15mW?
And will the beam be a bit visible with the 5mW Lyra?
I am fine with other choices...
