i just received the To-5 housings, and they fit well.

i get them off alibaba . the seller is called jack hao fashion online. however on alibaba, you can get much stronger for much less. also, i cant send it back when it was free. plus theres a good chance it would be seized when i send it out.

I myself use a big fat toy car axel to gently tap the diode in, though thisis with TO-5. It was a big fat pain in the a$$ trying to tap the to-18 in though with that rod. I must go to bunnings and see if i can get myself a brass rod, hopefully 5mm is enough for both to-5 and to-18

Im in australia, and here we have no laser wholesalers, and very few resellers, all of which charge bucketloads. My intentions for the 1W 808nm where to build into pre-built modules, for hobbyists to use however they wanted to, for burning and such. So far, i am getting much more attention...

as it turns out, the seller wrongly named the module. i got a pack of housings meant for TO-18. though the seller is offering to resend me a new lot of ones they will confirm work with TO-5 9mm laser diodes. :)
