In Australia laser pointers are already prohibited due to aircraft attacks. I am pursuing a permit so I can obtain laser pointers it is a bit of work but keeps the dickheads away from them.

Elite Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. - Product -Green_Laser_Collimator Would something like this work on say a low power laser of say 500mw? I have no idea on cost of this unit but a 500mw laser should be in the $1000 range. I am guessing that this collimator is worth more than most lasers am I right?

I would not want to spend to much, but I have looked at some gear and I would expect the setup I want will be in the $2000-3000 range but I would only want to spend $1000.
