Who said anything about "full spectrum laser glasses?" Man, all I told the people to do was use some protection. Back the f^^k off a^^hole!

Laser light is literally making us sick!!!

Again, does it negate the validity of the advice in any way? If not, and since my statement is essentially correct, why then do you feel the need to criticize my comment?

Laser light is literally making us sick!!!

Okay, all that may in fact be true, but does it negate the validity of the advice in any way? If not, and since my statement is essentially correct, why then do you feel the need to criticize my comment? If you claim it's because "commercially available" lasers typically don't emit UV...

Laser light is literally making us sick!!!

*Lasers are sources of non-ionizing radiation (unlike x-ray machines, which produce ionizing radiation capable of knocking electrons out of atoms). Different types of lasers emit "ultraviolet radiation", "visible light", or "infrared radiation" —all are forms of non-ionizing radiation...

Laser light is literally making us sick!!!

I don't know if anyone is still monitoring this post, but in case there is I've got a little experience with this phenomenon. I do experimental work every once in a while using a variety of common wavelength lasers and early on I noticed that I too get nauseous "whenever one is in use...

Self-Defense ~ Bear with me for a moment!

crashmiget, Although I do understand the concerns voiced here as well, I personally feel that the potential risks associated with discussing topics like this to our hobby are far out weighed by the enormously valuable information that such a discussion would most likely generate...

I've actually bought about 10-15 different lasers over the past year or so, but I can't seem to keep them around for any longer than a couple of days...

    2,000mm lasers on eBay???

Hey, thanks for the reply! Even at 1 watt that's still a whole lot stronger than anything else that can be found easily online. I just went to the site where you bought your blue one. Pretty nice! I can't seem to find anywhere on the ad that says "it's" strength though. Do you know what it...

    Nausea & Dizziness

Now I understand the significance of the distinction between visible and non visible spectrum's of light, and the additional information they might provide. if I understand correctly, the implied context would be that if I were reacting to something affecting the "visual" aspects of the brain...

    Nausea & Dizziness

Well Airman, before I reply, I would like to just take a moment and rub your LEG a little if I may. :) To those of you who are unaware of what that flash is on bloompyle's beret, it is the emblem for the US Air Force's Pararescue unit. This elite force is responsible for risking their own lives...

    Nausea & Dizziness

As to the de-focus question specifically, the answer is "yes." Under conditions of 1 foot at fifteen feet, sustained exposure greater than 15 seconds, 532nm, 100mW= nausea

    Nausea & Dizziness

If I even step into a room where a laser is in use I become almost immediately nauseous. The way I have to use them is at very brief exposures, and well thought out configurations because for me every second counts.

    Nausea & Dizziness

When I ran into this thread a few weeks ago, it was because I was looking for a similar thread I had commented on a while earlier. When I noticed I did not have a comment, (but I did have an account) I figured I'd leave something. I'm not sure if the original poster is even watching the thread...
