    Laser "microscope"

Would an unfocused 300mW 650nm laser work for this?

    Unfocused laser beam.

Alright, thanks for the help everyone.

    Unfocused laser beam.

Not planning, just wondering, and without the collimating lens or with the point focused to infinity.

    Unfocused laser beam.

Is an unfocused 300mW 650nm laser safe to look at? I'm not talking about shining it in my eyes or anything, but what about using it as a pointer?

    Aviators as safety glasses?

Hm, thought I was subscribed to this thread. Oh well. Anyways, thanks for the replies. Didn't think it would actually work, but worth a shot asking I guess.

    Aviators as safety glasses?

Out of curiosity, how well would a pair of aviators work as safety glasses? Would the mirrored surface reflect the light of a laser away from your eyes, keeping them safe?

    Simple red laser.

    Uh...ok, I'll study the diagram.

    Simple red laser.

How would I put the switch in? As in, how would I connect it to make it work? And what's a good switch to use? And in the diagram, where would I connect the resistor?

    Simple red laser.

How would I assemble the whole thing into a Altoids chewing gum case? With the switch and capacitor and stuff. Also, where would I connect the wires, etc etc.

    Simple red laser.

If I use a resistor, where would I solder it? And how would I assemble the whole thing?

    Simple red laser.

Could I just solder a capacitor to the battery pack? Or do I have to use a driver? And if so, how would I assemble it?

    Simple red laser.

Can anyone help me build a very simple red laser out of an altoids tin? I'm talking battery, diode, switch, and any other bare necessity.  And possibly a momentary button switch and a constant on/off switch. For materials, please try to list items that can be bought at stores, such as...

    Making a strong green laser.

My Asian parents are just...strict...like that. >.>. They're not as strict as other Asian parents in terms of school and stuff, but there ten times as paranoid when it comes to credit card and banking stuff.

    Hm, that's a good idea. I'll ask them. :D
