Thanks, I'll contact the OP of that thread and get some ordered. With pressure forcing the lens and focus ring outwards, I'm worried that through twisting to focus too much the whole unit gets thrown outwards and lost? Or am I just being paranoid lol

Okay, I bought some teflon tape (which I found out is a trade name for PTFE tape) and wrapped a piece around the lens thread once. It screws back in much sturdier however if I unscrew the focus ring, the ridged ring unscrews itself from the lens thread as the teflon tape keeps that bit in...

Aha, thank you! I'm gonna get an assorted spring set from the local hardware store and hope that at least one of them will work well in terms of size for the internal and external spring

Let me see if this is right: The internal spring goes inside the hole between the focus ring and lens mount thread, and the external spring goes around the lens mount thread?

What's the difference between the external and internal springs? I.e. where do they both go? One of them go around the lens mount thread I know that much

At present, when I twist the focus ring too much, it comes out (unscrews) and there's no spring in place so I would assume it is the External Lens Spring as you have linked to: External Lens Spring I will for the time wrap some teflon (which I'm sure is what I call electrical tape) and order...

So do without the spring and just find some teflon tape to wrap around the lens mount thread and then screw it back in?
