I found that my 405mW O-like is the best burner I have in the bunch. Between the wavelength,and the ability to focus a very tight beam, it outperforms even my 1W 445nm. Up close (less then 2') the 405 and 445 are fairly close in burning capabilities, but at a distance of 25-30ft, the 405 wins...

I lit one of my candles yesterday from 1 foot away with it, but I tried on the same wick this morning, and it just turned the wick bright red and smoked. It kind of needs spontaneous combustion to light. Sometimes it just won't happen.

I have a video uploading now of my 405nm 400mW igniting a green tipped match @ 28' away. My 1W 445nm can't do this because of the poorer multi-mode line beam. At distances of 10 feet or less, the 1W 445nm does have more burning power however.

I did light the candle from 6' away earlier today though. Yes, 400mW 405nm.

A Match top. It will light a match top from 25'.

I just tried again , and the best I could do was 12 feet. I am getting some beam artifact on the right side now for some reason. I can still light a match @ 25 feet though.

It's a great unit no doubt. The duty cycle is more like 4-5 minutes on/ 3 minutes off. @ 5 min, the heatsink on mine justs starts to get a little warm. (maybe 90*F)

Re: O-like 400mw green - $208 (hitting 600mw) - Review Mine has been in processing for 7 days now also. I hope this is because they decided to wait for ashipment of good products, so mine will be OK. Ordered on 3/10. Also, the new stock seems to have gone up on price.

My 405nm/400mW can do that @ 25' away. My 1W 445nm can not.
