I've constructed the driver circuit and used a 3 pin red flat diode. The beam produced is so big.is there a specific type of lens needed in case I'm not using an aixiz module? Please help me. here are the pictures of the light emitted and our circuit.

how can I know the pin out of the diode? and what is the driver circuit to be used?

Update: I've collected another laser diode from a lite-on dvd writer. I've managed to find one diode only. Is this the write laser? Here is the picture of our newly gathered diode.

What if I'll not use the aixiz module.??will it be possible to use this type of laser diode?

Hello!I'm trying to build a burning laser using the laser diode from LG 24x DVD-RW. We only found one laser diode with 4 pins. Since only one laser diode was found, would it mean that this diode is the read and write laser? Also, would this laser diode be the laser diode for a burning laser? And...
