Did I blow my M140 diode?

To clarify, I wasn't increasing the current on the TTL side. I was changing the PWM signal on the TTL side from 0 to 100%, and measuring the current going through the diode.

Did I blow my M140 diode?

While do some tests with an M140 I'm configuring for a laser cutter CNC rig, I think I might have fried the diode. I'm using constant current ttl driver like this one: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1CXU52VYHtY/VNFO4rgDjwI/AAAAAAAABFY/tmR5MUjyMSk/s1600/575720011537.png As I ramp up the signal on...

    Making terminal connections with 18650s

I'm machining a custom host this week for an M140 diode and will be powering it off of two 18650s and a BlitzBuck 1.8A adjustable driver. I received my protected 18650s (panasonic) today, and realized they don't have raised positive terminals. What is the typical means by which to achieve + to -...

    Arduino for current control

I have a project that requires the use of a green laser for aligning some equipment. The laser I am using is, I believe, this one, but was purchased off Amazon at the time: Aliexpress.com : Buy Free Shipping Green Beam Laser Pointer Pen High Power Bright 500 10000M +Free Battery+Free Charger...

    Thermal contact across machined threads?

I would very much like your FLIR camera. Okay! Well, I'll give it a shot. I'm not too worried to begin with as I won't be driving it higher than 1.8W and the diode itself will be pressed into a good chunk of aluminum itself.

    Thermal contact across machined threads?

I'll be fabricating a 100% custom host for a 445nm M140 diode out of a 1.5" diameter, 12" long aluminum cylinder. I may end up using the full length, and most likely the full diameter (I feel like the heftyness of such a laser will carry with it the implication that it's a dangerous device)...

Stumbled upon a HeNe; new driver circuit?

Thanks for the replies! wannaburnstuff: What power supply is that there and how much operating life do 4 AAs get you? phenol: The driver seems to function just fine (the laser lases at least!). In fact, there's an aux input and a mic. input, neither of which I have any clue what they do. The...

Stumbled upon a HeNe; new driver circuit?

Perks of being a grad student: sometimes faculty retire, go theoretical, or relocate, leaving behind a lab that is free for plundering (legally). One of the goodies from such a recent event was a working 1mW HeNe laser. Though not really useful to me in any practical way, I think they're a...

Wattage required to destroy a cctv camera?

Krtuz, you can get very similar results in your images as a result of dust on your CCD. I've had to take my Digital Rebel into cleaning because of this problem. The fuzzy dark spots, as in Aseras's images, would always show up when shooting high f-stop photo (ie. decreasing the aperture...
