Ok so i've never heard of Olike but I just visited their website and they seem to have some pretty well priced blue lasers. What can you all tell me about them and more importantly, should I spend my money with them?

So is it a safe bet to say that if it's just "beam" i'm after that I should just stay with green and perhaps get a slightly higher powered one than my curren 50mW model?

I bought my first laser about 4 years ago. It is an x45 from NOVA. It's been great and now i'm looking to buy my first blue laser. However I'm a bit confused over what's exactly out there these days. I've seen the lower powered ones all the way up to the 1W's. Here are my points of interest...

I have an x45 from NOVA. It's just over a year old and it's starting to take it forever to get up to full power. It starts out with a very dim dot and then slowly works its way up in brightness. I just put new batteries in it and it still struggles. Is the diode dying on me or could it be dirty?

I think my problem is solved. As I was inspecing the laser, I noticed the aperature cap was loose. I tightened it up and everything seems to be working fine now.

The demonstrations were mostly small burning demos and beam demos in the sky. The duty cycle is 100 seconds although I never got close to it...usually stopping after about 50-60 seconds. The only thing I can think of is that the humid conditions outside might have been affecting the power...
