    I suppose it is a diode chip, if it has a high reflect coating on the back of it, it would be a laser diode, otherwise it is a LED.

    where can i get a 3W diode, or other power/wavelength diode, i mean,except for ebay,. i would like to get one from other died device, like DVD,but it is not so powerful.
