This is the third time I have build this driver.I need to know what i am doing wrong. With the dummy load I have it set at 3 volts and the mv is reading 35.8, which = 358 ma's right or wrong? Every driver i have built seems to have the same problem. I have to turn the pot more than half way up...

built ddl circuit fried one, got help on second go around, Red Ld lasted thru 1 9v , discharged cap, replaced 9v and result is very little light. Maybe hooked up the lm317 to the digikey 100 ohm pot wrong. Maybe the 3.9 ohm resistor was the wrong choice for the driver. Don't know. Here is a pic...

those are some nice host, home built huh! Ive gotta ask, Is that a ddl driver and if so can I have a list of parts and stats of volts and ma's of the driver. I built my first ddl driver this past weekend and dont think I used that many resistors in mine. Did you mod this. Thanks Mike

got my first every ddl circuit 16xsony red laser up and running :) :) :) Now, I want to disconect from driver. 1 Do I discharge the cap before disconnecting the LD or do I disconnect and before connecting back up to ld discharge the cap.? Thanks Mike

stonetek 16x red, so I need to get rid of one of the 2 3.9 ohm resistors? and add more volts? can I add 2 more AA for a total of 9 volts or is this to much?

output from batt lead is 6.22, top pot range is 245.4 and the low is reading 11.6 did this by mv across the resistor.

ok, I reversed the cap back arond, put the dummy load bak on. here are the results... Resistor is reading in mv is 15.6 and the diodes are reading 2.961 volts. Is this right?

I had it turned the other way at first but I looked at the diagram and the cap polarity showed it as being backwards, so I reversed it. so what about the 2 3.9 ohm resistors. Is that right. and is my dummy load right?
