    6/4/17 bunch of lasers:)

Received the lasers I bought from Pman last night, super fast shipping and great lasers :) Thanks!

    Purchasing my first green laser

For general use and some experimentation the basic 5mW green will give you a great beam in the dark and a clearly visible spot in light. Granted it won't burn things, but you can setup desktop lab experiments and actually show people without the use of laser glasses. I've still got the one I...

    Ophir BeamCube

I've got a Beamcube sitting in my cabinet here at work, I love it. It has removed the need for multiple pieces to be used when setting up new systems, just a nice all-in-one for my power measurements, beam analysis, and pulse verification. I'm not sure what it cost as the original purchaser...

    WTB used/new IR glasses.

I have a pair at home, I'll check the OD specs when I get home and get a pic of them.

Re: FS: 500++mW RGB ILDA DMX Laser Projector 15K+Pangolin QS 2.0 FB3+ILDA 100 ft Cabl I might be interested in just the projector, depending on the pricing breakdown.

    Selling Gaming Gear!

Re: FS! Gaming Keyboard, Headset, and iPod! What kind of battery life does the ipod have lately? My 4th gen is in a losing battle with battey life. Also, does it come with the cord or just the iPod?

First burning laser Do you think this will this work?

And much more harmful if not using goggles, you won't even know if you get a beam to the eye until you feel it, there aren't many "close calls" with IR. You don't get the visual warning that causes you to jerk your head away.

Do you feel that the laser is just a desire that goes after holding it.

Well thats good to know at least if I happen to pick one up it won't just be a paper weight :)

Do you feel that the laser is just a desire that goes after holding it.

I've been doing this for 9 years as a professional, and for 2 years prior to that in college, I have yet to get bored with anything laser related. I don't even work with visible lasers on a daily basis, all of my work is with IR lasers, cutting, welding, and engraving. I've just discovered...

    FS 40W fiber laser diodes

Well I did say less efficient lol, I've dealt mostly with flashlamp pumped systems, but did recall pumping a YAG rod back in college with something close but not exactly 808. Many years ago lol and I didn't do a comparison study.

    FS 40W fiber laser diodes

If you are wanting to pump YAG with this and then double through a KTP for 532 you will be able to, you don't need exactly 808nm to pump, you just may be slightly less efficient as 808 is the most efficient.

    FS 40W fiber laser diodes

If you could get a hold of a CNC controller you could have a very nice small cutter/welder for metals. Wish I had the time and space to set something like that up, would love to be able to do what I do at work, at home and for myself lol

Uses for different Nd based wavelengths

1064nm is rapidly becoming the most commonly used industrial laser for cutting and welding of most metals (primarily steels). There has been a massive increase in high power 1064 systems, and at a very reasonable footprint. For example, Trumpf has a 16KW Disk laser that is ~2.8m x 1.4m in...

    A little bit about maddog2099

Hello All, I'm maddog2099 (Matt), I discovered this forum while searching around for an alternative to Wicked Lasers, and the cheapo laser pens you find everywhere. I am very happy to have stumbled across LPF, as I have learned a lot in the last few weeks of lurking, enough so that I feel I...
