    Why Michael? I think, but correct me, that all we need is a suitable lens (beam expander?) to focus the beam at that distance. I don't think tha 30 meters of air will absorb to much mW of power.

    DrSid, Considering that is true. Could be good the 1 W 445 nm diode (pumped at near 2 W) or better a 12 x 405 nm diode driven up to 700/800 mW??
