i am going to be using the same diode. can i use the blown one for a load test. will that be good to set up a max MA. the the lm317 chip is ok with 6 aa batterys right?

well i check the driver again and i know it is not that.i hooked up the other diode from the dvd burner to check it. so i guess i blow the diode. and well i seen it work for a few min. i am not going to order a new diode. let try again.

all i did was take the driver out of the old case i has it in and place it in a new one. i did not change anything only the driver case. i did not change the module . i left it in the heat sink.

i changed the case i had the driver in. and when i turn my laser on. it is now dim. i see that i am putting out 350ma and 3 v. i checked it with my meter is the diode blown. only used it for 5 mins and with the driver. 45 sec on 30sec off

ok and what is the best way to adjust the lens. aiming against wall ho far away from me.

you have to love the dam post office. i got all my parts to make my laser but the 3ohm resistor. it was shipped on the 6th and the post office lost it until the 8th. now it is on the way here. i have a diode from a sony nec 20x burner. th one listed on the forum to get. right now i am putting...

i did like you said and asked resistor girl if she had any. just have to wait for the reply. what store would you say i should buy from only. i am in new york. i don't mind buying a pack if i have to.
