I know that an 1W blue diode drain a lot of power (850mA @ 7.4V) but with good 650mA batteries the laser can last 650/850 = 0.76h = 45min but actually mine last only 10minutes.

Is there a thread somewhere on LPF about choosing battery ? You say the max capacity for an rcr123A is physically limited to 750mAh but the nitecore are 650mAh.
