what kind of resistor for option-x 300mw 650-660nm wavelength or a 1000mw projector diode?

just need advice on resistor, then im set for my first build

and i want to run it on 1 or 2 18650 li-ion batteries

btw the wavelength is 650-660nm for the 250-300mw.
