    RPL-300 and a round cut diamond...any ideas ?

Yep, there' called zirconia and they dont show as a narural, carbon diamond in a chemical test which I insisted on performing. They also dont come with a "Gemological Institute of America" certificate ;)

    RPL-300 and a round cut diamond...any ideas ?

I spent 5 hours at a diamond store today browsing thru loose stones with a proper magnifing glass, comparing cuts, colors, flaws, etc. Apparently the owner of the store got badly screwed when buying a new PC and some web design software for his new employee (thats the guy who screwed him over)...

    RPL-300 and a round cut diamond...any ideas ?

Naw...I dont think that anybody here seriously thought that a 300mw green beam would hurt any diamond :) but... I obviously did some research before buying the ring and I found out that they do use lasers to engrave stuff in diamonds and also drill and cut diamonds with lasers these days. I'd...

    RPL-300 and a round cut diamond...any ideas ?

lol ! Good point...I wouldn't wanna blow up the diamond, no way :P No but seriously, does anyone know ? Surely theres these little inclusions in most diamonds unless its a perfect diamond which costs prolly like eleventeen milion dolars and I cant afford that. These small inclusions might get...

    USELESS fact #39

I had 3 beers and I had to convert from meters to miles but I came up with: 186.282 miles or 186 miles and 496.517 yards. Speed of light is measured in vacum so I should have compenstated for that 40 miles or so of atmosphere from ground to the sky before that beam actualy starts traveling in...

    RPL-300 and a round cut diamond...any ideas ?

Yeah...I guess getting blind from a laser right before the wedding might suck a little. And what a dumb way to go blind too :P So...first Im gonna shine my 5mw greeny pointer into the diamond and see what happens. If its gonna project any cool stuff I'll use the RPL. And thanks for the congrats :)

    RPL-300 and a round cut diamond...any ideas ?

My friend "had" a Canon EOS 30D...we went to take some street night shots on a bridge...he left the shutter open on a tripod for a few seconds and one of the cars hit the long beams into the open shutter from very close, but just for a instant...the sensor died instantly and was beyond any...

    RPL-300 and a round cut diamond...any ideas ?

ok, its that time of life for me, Im getting engaged ::) My girl is getting a ring with an 0,5 karat, good VS2 clarity, round cut diamond. I've also upgraded from RPL-225 to RPL-300 from Jack - the package is on the way. So the question for me (obviously) is what can I do with my RPL-300 and...

questions about the Hercules and the RPL

Carter...I think You would be able to find many faults in quality & design of Hasselblad Cameras :) Now this might be either good or bad depending on how one looks at it. I personaly think that the videos on Jacks website are perfectly ok even if they show "freak" units, they show RPL's not some...

    GPS sattelites

Coming back to the scubject; It would be difficult and extremely expensive to construct a guiding system that would be capable of kepping a laser beam over a decent amount of time on a GPS satelite in orbit. Not mentioning the far out laser specs needed...power, divergence etc. Theoreticaly its...
