    Homemade Scanning Laser Color Projector/TV

    I was wrong, those mirrors from DLP are way too fast to be used as a vibrating mirrors (minimum switching frequency is 40MHz...) By the way. Let's say we have a system with a very low inertia (I calculated 4,76e-11 kg*m^2), I don't know the k (spring constant) of my system but I assume it is...

    Homemade Scanning Laser Color Projector/TV

    I was thinking about DLP's DMDs. In fact they are tiny mirrors vibrating at a fixed frequency. What do you think about using them as the fast mirror? I think it can be interesting! Or it's only a crazy idea? :p like this one has low resolution (we don't need it to be high as we need it only as a...

    Homemade Scanning Laser Color Projector/TV

    So you are saying that if you use a fast mpdulation you won't have the problems of the "slow" modulation? It's interesting.

    Yes, how many milliwatts you are using :)

    What is the maximum power you feed the green laser? When you plan to add the blue (or violet) channel? In these days the 445 nm blue ones from Casio projector are quite simple to find, and a 405 nm one I think would do it too.

    Homemade Scanning Laser Color Projector/TV

    These are the problems I was talking about ;-) The modulation of green lasers is far from simple. What is the maximum output of the green laser you used for the previous screen shots?

    It's really this simple?!? Wow! Have you a video of the projector working? What is the maximum resolution/frequency you reached? It's very, very interesting, in the future I will build it. From which source are you supplying the analog signal? Well done!

    Homemade Scanning Laser Color Projector/TV

    Yes, but green laser isn't as easy to modulate, as it's not a pure laser source but it comes from another wavelenght. Red and blue (or violet) are simple to modulate the way you are talking about, but green is different, it requires an advanced control.

    Great work! Now the biggest problem is the laser modulation: using PWM you need a ridiculous frequency (about 2MHz) in order to fully modulate 256 levels of color at a scanning frequency of 7800Hz. Another possibility is to use a mechanical modulator, but it needs to be very precise and fast...

    Thank you, I'll do so :)

    Blue=violet+green?

    LOL interesting answers :) in the thread My RGV is Alive! I can see in the photos a good-looking blue. This is the effect I am looking for. Have you the proportions of violet and green in order to achieve that color? Thanks

    Blue=violet+green?

    It depends on proportions, with the right amount of green over the violet you'll obtain blue (or any other color between them) :)

    Blue=violet+green?

    Hi, I need to build a RGB laser system, and I was thinking: "If I merge violet and a little bit of green, can I obtain a good blue?" Have you the proportions of V and G in order to have a good-looking blue (a color similar to the 475nm wavelength), or a way to calculate it? Thanks, Riccardo

    fast analogue modulation

    Thank you for your help :)

    fast analogue modulation

    Few milliseconds? I have to get much more faster. I know there is a way as 1080p projectors exist. Does someone know any source of fast green lasers? I need only 5mW, or even less... Maybe such a low power laser can be fast regulated? Why it's so slow? What if I keep temperature constant (e.g...
