Re: Sony 16x with rockstar, runs off less than 4 v
i forgot to mention that i have bought 2 sony 16x diodes (stonetek)
gave them 200 ma, and they died
they were proper cooled and everything was fine, but they died
that is why i told that
i know what is safe current for true 16x
the two diodes...
Re: Sony 16x with rockstar, runs off less than 4 v
i used to drive my diode that way
and then i gave it proper voltage and then it died
DO NOT give that 16x diode anything over 200ma (only if you bought it 6-7 months before)
well send an e mail to stone tek
he will tell you that it is your fault
as long as he keeps that review on his page, where he mentioned 400ma of current to the diode, i think it's his fault for our dead diodes
200 ma is the max for these new diodes
i have sent email to greg regarding his diodes which are not what they appear to be

me:
Hello,
i bought this sony 16x diode from you...well 2 of them
First one died after 2 days of using it with flexdrive set at 200 ma, it was
in aixiz module and it was heatsinked...
i think that we are doing good work for writing the markings of the diode and how did it behave.
i wrote the markings and i wrote that it died after 2 days of 200 ma, and i think that it is clear that the diode is not capable of taking 200ma current
i think we all are trying to find good diodes...
i had a green laser i bought from dx
until the diode died so i ordered diode from stonetek, 808nm
i installed it, connected to the driver and there is no green light when i align it with the crystal....
what could be the problem?
