    *445nm lasers* !GB-Closed!

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$! I managed to snip the plastic pin spacer away without removing the shorting wire and without stressing any of the pins. The most effective place to cool this package would be on the face that the wires come out of. You'd have to have some fine holes to let...

    *445nm lasers* !GB-Closed!

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$! Watch out for the heat sink compound on the diode. Mine got spread around a bit and came close to getting on the window. It would clean off, but that window need to be really clean and it's better not to touch it more than necessary... Can anyone see a good...

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$! Just got my diode today in the UK! Thanks kiyoukan

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$! Hi kiyoukan, very sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope they get caught. Did you manage to get the diodes posted?

    *445nm lasers* !GB-Closed!

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$! I'd entirely agree for most diodes, but since this one is isolated from its case there is a chance of a discharge occurring between the case and the diode chip. I wouldn't wave it around a Van De Graaff generator anyway :D

    *445nm lasers* !GB-Closed!

!!! Antistatic bag knowledge !!! There's a lot of confusion out there about the protection provided by different types of 'anti static' bags. The only type that provide ESD protection are the metallised ones. The others just prevent the generation of static charges. If you touch a component in...

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$! Laser diodes are very static sensitive, more than other diodes.

    *445nm lasers* !GB-Closed!

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$! True, but that has its dangers too: the additional static hazard from any extra handling and the potential damage caused by repeated application of soldering temperatures. kiyoukan plans not to use a soldering iron at all but instead snip the flexible PCB...

    *445nm lasers* !GB-Closed!

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$! I think the diodes are mechanically quite strong, apart from the possibility of their leads getting bent. Unless the postman actually starts stamping on the bubble wrap envelope I would say it's safe. A bit of cardboard rolled into a tube would add some...

I have done it, I have the power!

Right, makes sense, thanks. I'm really interested to see the projector laser combining optics when you get your projectors apart, if you get a chance! Now I'm thinking, if you can focus all 24 beams to a tight crosspoint, it should be possible to collimate the beams close together with a lens...

I have done it, I have the power!

I thought he was saying my idea of how Pontiacg5 focused all the beams together wouldn't produce a very tight focus. I still want to know how it was done!

I have done it, I have the power!

    Are you joking?
  13. IntraWinding

I have done it, I have the power!

So are you aiming the parallel beams all through a single large converging lens - perhaps the projector lens?

Casio Projector used as a projector?

I read a review somewhere saying the Casio was meant as a computer presentation projector, not for watching films. Apparently even the image pixel dimensions are matched to a computer display rather than high definition video. (I haven't checked myself).

Static Here's my experience with static. Sorry if you know it all already, but it might help someone: Table lamps: Important and easily overlooked. Most aren't earthed and some carry enough juice in their metal shades to light a small neon lamp (honest!). If you use one to help see the small...
