I just received the $12 "10mW" green laser show thing from LED Shoppe, it's pretty cool. I've already taken out the diffraction screen thing, and turned the pot down. But before I play with it more, I'd like to know what resistance I should set it to. I think it was at 880 Ohms when I got it...

It's a little hard to see my driver in here, but it's just a LM317-based driver. I got rid of the resistor and just used a pot. I'm actually thinking about changing it to a nice hefty pot that is meant to be adjusted all the time, and mount it on the host. But I'm not sure I'll do that, as it...

:'( I worked so hard to make everything perfect, and I got it working, and it was beautiful. Then one of the pins broke off the diode. So unless anyone knows how to fix broken pins, I think I have to order another diode.

Sorry, that's definitely out of my price range, I'm a starving college student lol. It was a pretty big deal for me to spend $26 on a diode that I'll probably end up burning out doing something dumb. I will remember to short that capacitor though! I'm going to build a test load and everything...

Okay. Thanks for that thorough answer. Yeah I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to turn the 803t down that much. I guess I will need two lasers. I told myself I wasn't going to get addicted. Lol looks like it's too late for me. Crap there goes my money. Rkcstr, I'm definitely interested in a PS3...
