So i should keep these at about 150mA? I just like these because they are cheap. For 25 bucks i get a violet and red diode. I cant find 8x diodes anywhere, does anyone on the forum sell them? 12x are nice but they cost to much, for 50 bucks i rather buy a 445 diode that can be pushed to 2W. But...

Its a 445nm 500mw with a AR coated glass lens. And thanks to everyone for the info, will be cleaning my lens as soon as possible.

So i should buy a lens cleaning pen? The thing i am worried about is that i used the laser for a long time without noticing the scatter, could the heat ruin my lens completely?

I was using my laser today to burn through a plastic bag. I did so for 20 minutes, and then lit some matches. I didn't notice this with goggles on, but my dot has scatter all around it. Its a huge faded circle with my dot in the middle. Can anyone help fix this? Could smoke from the bag damage...

So basically, a laser set to 1.8A will output about 1800mW with a AR lens, and about 2W with a G1. Did i get that right? i think 200mW is worth a better dot, plus i can always switch the lens. Thanks for the help

I am planing to build a 445nm laser using a 1.5A v5 Micro Flex Drive. I was just wondering what kind of power difference would i get between a G1 and a AR coated lens? Is the difference in power worth the more divergent beam? Also would a Guidesman host work well for this kind of build?

Thanks for the advice man, i know i wont get a watt of power. The reason i bought is because of the key. It is my first really high power laser so i want it to be safe. When i trust myself enough i will buy the 1.8W survival laser.
