Testing an Auto-Dark Welding helm's IR protection

what about the ir pass filter you can found on IR receivers, for example the ir pass filter used on the camera of a wiimote from nintendo wii?

    What IR laser is safe

Craggrat: Well I think that if the laser light is not focused, I mean not concentrated on a little spot, it doesn't have to be dangerous, depending on the power of the laser obviously, is like to watch at the sun, or watch at the sun trough a lens that concentrate all it's power on a very...

measuring ir emission from a 532nm at home?

I read that some lasers that operates at the visible spectrum can also emite infra red radiation. I wondering if that radiation could be seen using a camera with an ir pass filter. for example, if I place an ir pass filter (taken from a remote controller) over my macbook camera (macbook camera...

    What IR laser is safe

Hi Jerry, After i asked here I thought that may be I can reach more ppl creating an individual thread, many ppl just read the first post then go directly to a quick answer, so a different question on the middle of several responses could be unnoticed. That is "why", but doesn't means that is...

    defocused IR laser safety question

I'm working on a project that involves some defocused IR Lasers, to be detected with an IR camera, I'm talking about a defocused ir laser that will produce a 1 inch diameter dot at 3 feet (2.5 cm at 60cm). For those guys that deals with laser related maths: How many mw do you think will be...

    What IR laser is safe

(Sorry, I don't see any IR Laser there (video 2:30), if there is a laser, is very out of focus) By the way, I'm working on a project that involves some defocused IR Lasers, to be detected with an IR camera, I'm talking about a defocused ir laser that will produce a 1 inch diameter dot at 3 feet...

beam reflected on skin could be dangerous for the eyes?

well, I think my laser is not a real 200mw laser, to feel something on the skin I have to put the hand very close keep it very steady for some seconds. I was playing some time ago with a real 200mw laser and I remember that you can feel the laser on skin almost immediately.

beam reflected on skin could be dangerous for the eyes?

oh no, the crowd will be at several meters and I will be at not less than 50cms, anyway the idea is that I won't see the beam reflected on my hand, but may be I'll see some little reflections on my fingers. I'm new to lasers, I read that reflections could be dangerous specially on glossy...

beam reflected on skin could be dangerous for the eyes?

Hi, I'm working on a laser instrument, like a laser arp but is just a single beam. It could be dangerous for the crowd or for me to see the beam reflected on my hand/fingers? I'm using a 40USD 200mW 532nm Green Laser Module (3V 11.9mm) Thanks!
