    Degradation of M140

Thanks! For better diode in/out pushing I, for example, made axiz "diode holder" about 0.1mm wider for ease.

    Degradation of M140

Thanks everyone for help, that was my first one, anyways i'll defenitely take heatsinking issue into consideration

    Degradation of M140

It's top part of Aixiz screwed in, plus brass nut fitted tightly, to maximize thermal contact, all filled with CPU-grade thermal compound, I'm not sure overheating was the main reason for power loss, but i agree this is not best design however.. New 9mm diode will be great to go more serious...

    Degradation of M140

Here's a video, where brightness loss can be seen (I hope). Just disassembled driver and connected the diode directly to PSU. http://laserpointerforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39039&d=1343646774 The heatsink itself (looks oldschool :D)

    Degradation of M140

Well, few mouths ago I made some very simple build with M140 diode, that consisted of diode pressed into a massive round aluminum heatsink i found on radioshack and external power supply with custom linear driver and 2 Turingy lipo batteries of 1200mah & 15C discharge rate (those appeared to be...

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

Does this means voltage rise = resistance drop?

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

    It's xj-A140 diode

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

Voltage was set to 4.2v . But i just made another test, and i'm completely confused. When rising the voltage to 5v, current rapidly reaches 2A... Can't understand a thing.

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

Ok, today i finally got my new psu with adjustable current, and decided to run a "LEDed" diode at different currents. Seems the diode obtained a strong resistance. It starts to emit dim light at ~200 ma, and becomes brighter till ~300 ma. Then PSU swiches to constant voltage mode. Is that an...

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

Is that because of lamps? I soldered wires to diode pins, and shorted the circuit by simply sticking wires together. If that could cause voltage spike, should i turn on the PSU with already shorted circuit?

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

yeah, i wish i had such PSU

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

No thread ( PSU is not new, from late 80's but I honestly don't know which way it's stabilized. It just says "Stabilized" on it's case:confused: Thanks for support I'll definitely try:yh: Could it be a such small voltage overdrive:undecided:

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

It measured 1.25A in the circuit. Yes, it was turned on, i shorted the circuit by simply sticking wires together for short time. Hm, that's an idea, may the reason be in touching the wires with bare hands, while shorting circuit?

Problems with diode, What i did wrong?

Well, before i got my heatsink for aixiz module, i decided to make a quick test for the xj-A140 diode. Due to lack of the portable driver yet, i made a circuit with an incandescence lamp and an stabilized DC power supply. The power supply has a voltage amplitude of 0-15V and constant current of...

Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits pens

I thought 140's can be pushed up to 1.5A:thinking:
