I have a DX true 30, I used to have a 50mw that was from ebay but could never test its output, lost it so went to DX. For the first split second the beam is really bright then it drops to about 60% maybe. I thought it must be the poor batteries that come supplied so got some energizer lithiums...

Sorry to bump this thread. I have heard that they do have weak IR lasers so they are not as safe as the more expensive laser but better than no filtering at all. I have also heard their power is majorly over-rated, a lot of peoples units cannot burn elec tape etc. so soundsl ike the original...

DealExtreme seems safe enought to me, placed my first order mid september and another later that day, both turned up the day after postal strikes in UK each minus one item which should have been sent by now as it was out of stock. They can sell their items so cheap with free delivery because...

Thanks for the welcome. I have been following their RRP since wickedlasers opened but only recently found out how many enthusiasts there were about globally! Some very good information on here so hope to learn some stuff and in time help newbs out.

Hello everyone, my name is adam, I am from the UK and am pretty much a newb at the laser lark. I have messed around with a few diodes from DVD burners but hope to learn more about lasers and how to make my own. Hope to get talking to some of you on the forum :)
