Protected cells may also be slightly wider, usually because of the extra heatshrink to hold the protection circuit. Lithium-ion batteries follow this naming scheme (in mm): XXYYZ XX= diameter YY= Length Z = Type (0 for cylindrical, 1? for prismatic, etc.) Just expanding on what jwc said ;)
