I also just found a pic from when I was building it that shows the heatsink/focus assembly. It doesn't use a module, instead the diode is mounted in a copper plug which is mounted inside of the heatsink.
OK, sorry for the delay but I finally got time to LPM the 638nm...
It came in at 130mW at 40 sec with a laserbee 2.5 usb.
(its really not that unstable, I was wiggling around a little during the run)
Yes, I can split them up, I was just being difficult... they are $5 each either way.
I will check the power on the 638 before I ship off the LPM, but I can't get to it til later today. I can guarantee that it is over 120mW and less than 200mW. Also, I should note that that diode, while single...
I don't know if DNJY is really interested, or if he was just asking about the power. If not, its all yours.
I'd prefer to sell both tubes, but I can split them up if you REALLY only need one :D
I'm actually just starting my PhD, although I have been working on my research for a while. I use snakes as a model to study molecular physiology... any more detail than that would be hard to explain, haha.
What you'd be getting yourself into varies a lot, so I can't help you there. If its a...
It uses one of the "110mW" Mitsu SM diodes from DTR. Now that you mention it, it probably isn't 200mW... I haven't looked at it for months, I think that power output is from one of my 660's. I'll recheck it when I get time, and I will put the real specs up there. Sorry for the confusion.
