I bought a cheap unsafe laser and it ended up blowing up half a city block due to an overload in the flux capacitor :( haha! but in all seriousness, Ive bought all my lasers from people in this forum thats your best bet, just got in a 1w survival laser! good luck

OK, i know there is a similar post, but mine is a little different. SO. what is stopping me from buying a LAPNGR50 from amazing1.com for 240 bucks and then just swapping out the 808nm diode for a much more powerfull (200-300mW) one? The lenses ect. are there and should be capeable of higher mW...

I agree with, styropyro about the IR filter. But if I can see the graph before I buy, I am SOLD. If I buy I will do a review. On a related note, is there anyone on these forums that i can trust to send my laser to so they can test the output mW?

saaaaweeeeettt... did you tell them you were a lpf member, or just buy anonymously? becuase that may influence the performance of your laser.

Re: Stability and Lifetime Question concerning PHR sounds like a pretty hearty diode. I just bought a laser with the PHR 803T, is this the same diode you are talking about here? or does the "T" make a big difference?
