With all due respect, SH*T HAPPENS! i just got into this hobby and have less posts on this forum to even begin to criticize a 500+ post member, yet alone post a link; But your blowing this WAY out of proportion. it's one ~$15 LD, it's not that bad. i bought numerous of 803T sleds and broke 4...

i took a POT from a disassembled DVD drive and read it as a 2.5 ohm - ~550ohm. i also have one 10[ch956]F and one 22[ch956]F cap in series to reduce voltage spike. i researched countless hrs on numerous of forums and threads on how i would assemble a regulator. i plan to hook it up in parallel...

Thank you for the info!  :) Just wondering about the heat it will produce... It's surrounded by thin plastic.  do these type of diodes produce lees heat or stay cooler than a closed can? i tried to look up more info on this type of diode but with no success.

I went to my local Best Buy and bought a 20x Sony DVD burning drive for 59.99... I began to take it apart and i didn't see anything that resembled a typical laser diode. I began messing around and i finally found what i was looking for...sort of. Just add h t t p : / / in front of the links...

I'm sorry if this question was already answered in a previous post. :-X I saw a YouTube video where some guy used a flashlight (LED) that had a Driver already in it, i just didn't catch the brand and model of flashlight he used. Would anyone know what flashlight he may of used in his laser...
