Sorry I have not been checking messages! The laser in the link appears to be the same as the one I have. Since I have purchased the laser, there has been some increase in the divergence when focused to infinity but still very good performance considering the price.

    What lights do you have?

I have a nice small collection. This one is my favorite Spy Tri-V!

Im going to hong kong, Any lasers?

I was visiting there last November. Saw a lot of the same cheaper laser pens and gadgets at Temple Street and Stanley Market. Nothing too exciting laid out except for this one 405nm (I assume) pointer style that was priced about 1200HKD at Stanley. Visually it was only slightly less bright than...

    Bird on Fire

Interesting. Could be useful under certain conditions, say, a tailings pond? A properly built scanner could reduce the number of deaths (of birds) due to oil and chemical ponds. The acoustic cannons are fairly annoying in the oil sands.

Increase your MPG by 10 to 30%!!!

The Russians did this as a means of propulsion. I believe it was also very quiet. I know it's true because Sean Connery wouldn't lie.

Increase your MPG by 10 to 30%!!!

I could see how, in theory over a few beers, this could help. IF it could reduce the demand on the alternator, there could be a reduction in fuel used to turn it. But you'd have to be operating some high draw electronics at a specific frequency. Reminds me of the device that would increase...

If you like knifes, this is a must...

I've always thought this was interesting... At 3 lbs and 35.5" open, it's not what I would call a "flipper". I don't really collect, but I have a few model 41s in 440C, 154CM and D2 as well as a trainer.

Blue/Violet + glow in the dark ceiling safety.

I purchased a couple of cheap blue/violet pointers off eBay advertised as <10mw. On the LaserBee they both put out just over 30mw. Just something to keep in mind for your eye safety. I use UVEX SCT Orange safety glasses with my BluRay (about $8 at the local auto store). On a direct hit, mine...

    mini RC helicopters

Interesting little helicopters, but I think I will stick to my MCX and MSR. Parts are available locally so wait times are significantly reduced! I'm sometimes tempted to get a larger heli, but I'm already into r/c rock crawling...

    O-Like Company Thread!

Sorry mfo, my comment wasn't directed at you. As you know, some of these lasers are coming with batteries and chargers...

    O-Like Company Thread!

Given the context of this thread, I feel it's a valid warning. The waterproof red laser from O-Like comes with an 18650 rechargeable lithium battery. I don't care who the battery comes from, I will test each on a meter to ensure it isn't under 2.75v. Even expensive AWs can experience protection...

    O-Like Company Thread!

Not exactly sure what batteries came with your laser but, as a general rule, you should not leave charging batteries unattended. At the very least, make sure they are on a non combustible surface under a smoke alarm. I'm also into nice flashlights (where I hear most battery horror stories) and...

Why do you need this laser??

My favorite two lasers are in Perkin Elmer FTIR and UV/Vis spectrometers. The former was used to measure combustion products in diesel engine oil and the latter for identifying and quantifying pharmaceutical drugs and nutritional ingredients. Hope to have my own UV/Vis one day!
