your info is old,we has several new direct diodes of various wavelengths over the last 5 years that pretty much covered the visible spectrum nicely except the yellow-orange yet that still are in research and testing.

when a diode or led shifts wavelength its always increasing to higher wavelengths,you did you manage to do the opposite?i see that as your led becomes brighter it turns bluer, that's weird except if i'm missing something

very nice beamshots i own a pl520b diode that running at 110mw and the beamshots are great,those low divergence diodes are best if you want a quality beams,is this diode that you used expensive?i think its the 1st time im hearing of it

get a pico driver for your bdr209,i run mine with a pico without problems.

hi, bdr209 works great at 550ma for safe current and up to 600ma if you want to push it,my bdr209 runs at 570ma and outputs 930mw which is very nice, don't try to get or pass the 1w range or you will start losing diodes quick.

to get 1.5w safely out of a single diode you definitely have to get the hl63282 as its more capable for higher power, the p73 is only rated 500mw for cw output and we already pushing it hard to over 1w,in best case you can get 1.3w out of it by feeding it 1.3A and no more,it is still too risky...

900mw+ is also great no need to push it more for extra less than 100mw,im running mine at 550-560ma and im getting 920-930mw,i guess the diode will fry if i try to push it at 600ma to get 1w out of it :P
