I have my flexmod p3 on during the night for some engraving when I wake up, part of the engraving has no marks suggesting that the laser is turn off mid way. The laser is not in low-power mode (just nothing output). Power cycle my machine spring the flexmod p3 back into action (showing lower...
So between the Eagle Pair above and this one, which one should I choose?
Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles
I wonder if OD5 would be overkill and make the dot invisible :(. I need to align my laser on to some paper that I am cutting with my cnc.
I have been having this goggle while dealing with my 2W laser diode indoor.
Between this pair NoIR LaserShields: Laser safety goggles for Argon and KTP lasers and applications. ($100?)
and this pair Eagle Pair® 190-540nm & 800-1700nm OD5 Laser Safety Goggles
Which should I get? I don't look at...
Ok. So if I want to keep the copper module, what lab-style heatsink can I use as a drop-in for such module?
Perhaps this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heat-Sink-Holder-Mount-for-12mm-laser-modules-/260834766050?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbaf6ace2
I assume this means I will need to remove my current diode from its copper housing and transplant everything to the new heatsink? I came into posession of this diode with the housing (same link from dtrlpf above) already installed. What should I watch out for when performing such transplant?
I would like a recommendation for a lab-style heatsink that I can put around my 445 2W laser before attaching it to computer heatsink.
I do see this review Heatsink Style TO18 Laser Diode House w H Fan Cooling Match for MP905 Lens | eBay
However, I am not sure it will fit my 2W 445...
Thank you for the reply. I don't want this light bleeds to happen. I am thinking of installing a straight tube connecting from my laser housing to the paper. What material should this tube be in? I assume something that a 2W 445nm cannot burn and release obnoxious gas, perhaps black anodized...
I notice that when I turn on the laser pointing at a piece of paper, the blue glows makes my white t-shirt and white pads of my 3m breathelizer glow blueish.
This does bothers me since I can see the blue glow under my goggles (right under my eyes after all) :). I wonder if this is bad for my...
