Chiming in a bit late here, but I wanted to note that a cop is not authorized to shoot you for shining a laser at him or her. At least not in the US. They can only shoot you if you pose a threat that a reasonable person would consider serious or deadly. If he knows it's a laser pointer, then...

Yikes!! I feel sorry for you. I bought my last laser from WL, so I never had to live in fear of my laser being dangerously overpowered ilke that. In fact, in the ultimate gesture of safety and goodwill, my WL decided it would be best to stop emitting photons completely. :P

hmm... I thought you were looking to have a line projected on the floor, but based on your diagram, it looks like you want to have a visible beam around the entry, like a tripwire. It looks like you want the actual beam to be visible, not just a projected line - if that's the case, you're going...

Are you starting a business, or just collecting powerful lasers? From your youtube videos, it looks like you're a hobbyist.

Is it visible?  I have a dead WL and I don't see any gunk on the contacts.  Maybe I'll try sanding it a bit just to be sure... - Nope, still dead... oh well... my Alpha 65 is coming soon...
