I can pop a balloon with my phr803 laser at around 10ft. I have never tried a longer distance.

I am having good luck with my GGW 6x diode. I am running it at 200mA and it has over an hour of use on it. But then again i only leave it on for a couple minutes at a time.

I dont think you will find heatsinks under 10$ or everyone would already tell you where to find them and more people would probably be using them.

Which 6x diode are you using?
