Is it possible to delete your account here? Or would I have to PM or email one of the admins? Thanks

    Old 4mW HeNe projector

Here is the controller box. In the corner are two 28V 4A linear power supplies. I'm guessing the heat generated from them must be insane. Also, the PC card is old enough that none of the computers in our house have the right slot for it. Box: PC Card (sorry for crappy quality/lighting, these...

    Old 4mW HeNe projector

Yeah, it was there because at some point some people where my father worked had it made for the company (the company makes large laser cutting machines, but I'm not really sure why they would have had a projector made), but when they were done it was going to go to waste, so he brought it home...

    Old 4mW HeNe projector

I found this laser projector in my basement and decided to open it. Its got a 4 mW HeNe tube from 1994 :O. Anyways the controller for the galvanometers is a mess so I may in the future make my own modern Arduino-based one or at least convert it into some kind of spirograph. For now I removed...

    LED Orb 2.0

Few questions: For the bike light controller, do you know what frequency the LED's were being pulsed at? Also, are all the LED's connected in parallel or do you have individual control over each one? Do you know the approximate RPM of each axis? Thanks

    Need help Buying 445nm Laser

You could build a 2W lab one if you bought the module from any online source, and then stuck it in a very big heatsink (possibly active cooling). The diode wont last long though. Also, you could knife-edge two diodes together (see this post...

How much did that thing cost:drool:

new way to modify a green laser

I agree that most hydrogen converters are by clueless people, but some are quite good (the ones that are used as torches, not as car fuel)

    532nm 200mw doesn't burn stuff... ?

If you want to burn stuff, grab a 445nm laser. If you know how to build a driver/heatsink/host/etc., it'll only cost you 50 bucks. Of course, you'll probably drop another 50 on goggles to protect your eyes.

What can I harvest from a bigscreen TV?

Aren't there high voltage (>20 Kv) flyback transformers in there? I'm surprised that no one mentioned those yet

    Best laptop manufacturer

I've got a dell XPS 15 which was 750$ (excluding MS Office). i5, 4gig ram, nvidia gt 420M with 1GB video ram.

    445nm >FIRST BUILD<

This might be a bit off-topic, but shouldn't this be in the 445nm lasers sections instead of the 405nm section?

    50mW 473nm DPSS

Considering that the wavelength is similar to 445, you could just get one of the A140's that are floating around. They are much more powerful too. But they arent that wavelength nor are DPSS

    I love chocolate

Umm... what does chocolate have to do with 445 nm lasers?
