  • I will try to send you some beamshots i made yesterday :) thanks for fast response :)
The more specific you are, the better advice you will be given. It is also better to see it on pics (with description of how far is the dot from laser etc. to get as much relevant reference as possible). If you have expanded lens kit, you might even use focussing lens or other spreading the dot into large area to see what is happening in the pattern.
Diodes are not supposed to suffer from misalignment as much as DPSS when not handled with care during transport for example. But as I mentioned already, they are multimode at high powers (exceptions are 405 nm), for my Krypton (520 nm) it goes even like TEM22 or something like this... My Arctic is also multimode, but I did not observed something like 2 beams so far.

Good luck and do not forget to stay safe and make your welcome thread with your intro on LPF. ;)

    Hi,

first of all welcome to LPF.
I received your message, but unfortunatelly you do not have allowed responses here, so I send it on your "wall".

Not sure about your Arctic from your description. Rectangular dot is completely fine, it is characteristic of the diode lasers. However 2 beams seem to be mode hopping, diodes like these in Arctics are multimode, therefore it might be normal. Also I noticed my Evo (but it is DPSS, not diode) does the same thing (from TEM00 jumps to TEM01 or TEM10 - depending on how the module is oriented) but only at low power or if temperature is not optimal, for DPSS and the technology of curved mirrors it might be typical under certain circumstances.

You might try to take some pics of the problem you have and post it in separate thread with various additional details (like temperature, power settings or current etc.) to let also others express their opinions.
