    Blue lasers can cause cancer?

Not to say he isn't intelligent or possibly knows what he is talking about, but I have met some pretty ignorant and arrogant people who established their apparently infinite and all-knowing knowledge over videos and encoding on merely taking and passing a [heavy?] course in college.. and clearly...

    Welding mask as goggles?

Not SPAM. :\ If you still think it's SPAM, then I hope your post is what gets removed. :D

    Focusing glass pieces?

Heh, well, after this incident and spending $90 + other costs to get my laser repaired (totally up to roughly $500 for an Arctic Spyder S3), I don't think I will be disassembling my laser and making such attempt. :D I'm happy enough that I have a 1W 445nm laser that works. (For those wondering...

    Welding mask as goggles?

Would welding mask work for goggles? This is a question some people have asked me, and have been wondering myself (although personally, I would get some real goggles instead; not advertising, but just a note to self).

    Power levels of diodes

So how does this work? What determines the effective "wattage" output of a diode (or laser)? Does it work differently for different wavelengths of light? ie. Possible to do a 10W red, or is there a diode limitation? How big (physically) can diodes get? Sorry, just curious and want to learn...

    Focusing glass pieces?

Would someone be kind enough to direct/recommend me to some optics for focusing my 445nm 1W laser? :)

    Blue lasers can cause cancer?

This is probably one of the stupidest newbiest questions, but do or can blue lasers cause cancer? Somehow I read (or misread) somewhere some time ago along these lines in regards to "touching" the blue laser with hands. How does this apply to a 1W? : o EDIT: Just exactly how awfully dangerous...

Stupid kid with 800 "megawatt" laser

Poor kid. Someone should show him the product page on WL's website where it says "1 Watt" and not "1 GigaWatt"

    Wickedlasers?

Does this mean I can't order batteries+charger from WL? :(

This picture looks amazing. Do you have more?

    Spyder S3 Arctic - Broken wiring :(

Daguin is repairing my laser; I don't want to sell my laser if I don't have to. :)

2W 445 DTR Frankenstein Ultrafire RL-2088 Handheld Host

Wow, that laser is a beast.

Is there any HANDHELD LASER thats a 2W? (405nm-473nm)

If it helps any, the light spot of my 1W Spyder Arctic S3 (before I broke it) upon my driveway made of rocks looked like a welding torch in use. You don't want to look at it without the proper goggles to filter out the wavelenth of the laser. X_x

    Lasers in space

But what if you had a satellite that would transmit/receive data between the space craft, and then the right technology for back-to-ground-on-Earth transmission. Space craft would only have to be able to see the satellite from Mars, and as long as the lasers on both can be seen by each other...
