Any news about the 510 nm diodes?

    That's for sure!

Any news about the 510 nm diodes?

My first 532nm pointer was rated at 5mW (actually was about 2), and cost me about $350 (MANY years ago)! I floored many people though because no one has seen a green beam before, well, outside of a movie, that is! I still have that pointer and it's still going strong! I'm still waiting for a 2W...

    Blue or green laser?

There's something magical about a super-bright blazing green beam! I built my first laser 35 years ago, and in spite of all of the different beam colors that I see, 532nm green has always been my favorite. It's just incredibly impressive in high powers!

    Not exactly laser related but...

Put it in your yard with a fence around it, and danger/warning signs posted everywhere. Aim a webcam at it and chage internet viewers to watch people drive by, turn around and drive by again, then stop to try to figure out which planet that you are trying to annhilate! :-)

Where can i buy matches for burning?

No Walmart? Wow. I thought that Walmart was everywhere. I fully expect them to have a store already open on Mars when a manned mission finally makes it there!

    Steering Lightning With Lasers

I was struck by lighting when I was 16, and was unconscious for about 20 minutes. I'll let you good folks play with the lightning as I huddle inside where it's safe! That one bolt got my attention for life! :-)

Fact about the lasers, is it true??

It also depends on whether you want total (all wavelengths) power, or just visible power. The IR filter blocks energy (light) that you can't see. If half of the energy (as an example) is infrared, the beam won't appear as bight as a laser that outputs the majority of its power as visible light...

    Powder Coating

I would be interested as well.

Please help! I am new to lasers. =)

Be very careful on the power that you start out with. You definitely don't want your fist laser to be the one that blinds you! No matter what you get, or where you get it from, buy a quality pair of safety glasses appropriate for the wavelength and power of your laser. I can't stress this...

WL disables posting on their forum.....

I don't know if others had experienced the same thing, but I would see the forums there down just as much as they were up. Sometimes they would load, sometimes they wouldn't. With as many strong feelings about WL products, I figured that they would be hopping with activity, even if it were only...
