    StarWarz CO2 Power

Apologies for the slow reply, its just a 60W ebay laser tube. Power supply, water tank, pump and radiator are mounted in wooden box under it. Not finished, i'll stick it on a pintle mount just for fun, and hopefully get these lenses fitted.

    StarWarz CO2 Power

Thanks Mike, it looks telescopic? funny none of your other pics are showing up for me now. Yes I meant I have an expanding lens as well, -1" and a +5", pitty I have no machining ability to mount them.

    StarWarz CO2 Power

Mike you deleted your pictures? I only just got my lenses in the mail yesterday, and actually only fired the laser itself up for the first time yesty as well. Its still a fair way from complete but : YouTube - Laser vs Modern Warfare 2 What I cant wrap my head around now is the relationship...

    StarWarz CO2 Power

Hi Mike, I cant work out what "LRO -1.39 FL optic" is refering too, a 1.39 focal length lens? Does that mean if the lense was flipped it would be 1.39" FL"? I'm interested in extending the burning ability of the CO2 laser. I have a CO2 tube mounted in PVC, definately not as pretty or as compact...

    Curving green laser lights

Interesting to note that water is the opposite, red light is absorbed more thus deep sea plants are often red to make use of the green light that does make it there. Green chlorophil would reflect it.

    Curving green laser lights

It isn't, well not really in the sense that one would think. Blue sky is the result of the atmosphere scattering the lower wavelengths of light so it looks to be coming in at all angles not just from the sun, thus at dusk its red as the light has to penetrate further and the blue light has been...

    StarWarz CO2 Power

Hi Mike, I'm in envy of your machine there :) Could you elaborate more on the focusing lenses? How does the expander and lens come into play? I'm a noob but I'm assuming you expand the beam with one lens then focus it down to a point with another. If one wanted such lenses where would one...

    rayfoss RF532-200mW-B03 laser and customs

Rayfoss already does what it can to trick customs. They sent everything but the laser in one package (charger, battery, stickers) and an unmarked laser in another package marked led light. I originally thought customs had stolen mine, then it turned up by itself a week later. They have a 50%...

    Best Apps for Android OS

Theres already an iPhone thread so heres one for Android OS. I just maxed out the feeble internal memory of my dersire 2.1. Not including apps that directly effect the functionality of the phone (sound management, sms, ebay ect.), this is what I have, if anyone knows any better or other apps...

    Wiring a Chinese Power supply

Thanks Ion, great help. I would have never figured that out myself. Still confused about the WP pin what does it do regarding the actual pump? Off topic, is that CuO/Al thermite in your avatar pic? if so does a 60W CO2 initiate it? :)

    Wiring a Chinese Power supply

Moving on to the other plugs, again the instructions are not specific to this machine. So it has TH/TL/WP/G/IN/5V, what can I do with this? Only interested in analogue controls. Can I add a variable resister between two of those terminals to vary the power output? If so what value resister...

    CO2 - red beam combiner

Ok thanks, so the lens is mounted at an angle to reflect the red beam along the same path as the IR. Assume there will be some refraction of the IR beam if the lens isn't mounted perpendicular to it.

    CO2 - red beam combiner

So can someone explain how this works? Do these lenses focus as well as combine? How do you aim the red into it?

    Wiring a Chinese Power supply

Lethal voltages and water! But Yeh you'd be more nervous if you saw the power supply I tried go make from a microwave, talk about overkill, before deciding its safer and cheaper to just buy one. Yes you are all correct, 0 ohms. Logic wins again :p
