    DX "200mW" green module

Received it today (order placed 20 days ago). Packaging was terrible (just the laser module in a plastic bag placed inside the bubble mailer). Fortunately, the wires on mine didn't fall off unlike others. I wanted to make sure its not DoA. I tested it at arm's length using my cellphone battery...

    DX "200mW" green module

Any ideas on how output of SD301 type lasers compare to these?

    90mw 520nm laser

Hi, Which lens did you use with the 520-B1? EDIT: Oops, should've searched more. The answer is in this thread http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/pl520-b1-build-ehgemus-custom-host-88425.html (acrylic lens)

Simple Linear MOSFET Dimming Circuit + PWM

Hi Bionic Badger, Thanks for the quick response. Yeah I realize 7 channels might be an overkill. But while 3 channel system definitely covers most of the CIE color space, it misses some of the 'beautiful' colors (most prominent weakness being the inability to produce saturated cyan). For more...

Simple Linear MOSFET Dimming Circuit + PWM

Sorry for digging up a dead thread. I'm going to build a 7 channel color changing project for my room, which will be powered by 3 CGR18650's and PWM-d by a PIC16F628A. My question: Is R4 in the schematic really necessary if my PIC is referenced to the same ground? Choosing the cumbersome 7...

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

2 of them sold on CPFMP, keeping 1 for mine!

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

Reflowed all of them successfully(tested OK!) to starboards. A direct drive from 4 Sanyo 18650's on a cold day(18degC) gave 500mA initial current. The cells were each at about 3.8V. The current was measured by Fluke DMM's max function after driving the LED for a brief moment (since w/o...

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

The LEDs arrived today. (They are from the UaP8d33aM bin, i.e. V_f of 14.1-15.7V at 500mA, 1010-1120mW output at 500mA, 360-370nm peak).

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

Got it! And I've successfully sold some stuffs on CPF! I just had to inflate the price to cover the 3% fee PayPal levies on me for selling goods.

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

Maybe, that'd be wonderful! The problem is I've zero reputation here, so people won't trust me. Another problem is I don't know how to setup Paypal for selling goods / getting paid. Should I pre-calculate the taxes that Paypal levies on me and pass it to the buyer?

    30's Eveready Mod...

So surprised to see these Eveready's here at LPF! These were widely used in my country(India) in the early 90's, and there were also much larger versions (4 D or maybe even 6 D cells) made with reflectors that will dwarf the current generation of flashlights. Thanks for bringing me back the...

Feeler: Nichia high power 365nm LEDs

Well, I think this thread needs an update. Nichia has brought down the prices to somewhat reasonable level, so I managed to order 3 pieces of NC4U133A. (Nichia doesn't allow customers to choose the flux/voltage bin though). My order will ship directly from Japan (the so called 'Bestway DDP'...

You think lasers are a for fun?

This (scary) thread ruined any chance of buying 5+mW lasers for me, I'll rather stick with LEDs (that too w/o collimating optics)! Was planning to buy some Royal Blue Rebel ES, I have to think again after reading this thread. As a newbie, I can't really see the point in buying high power lasers...

About focusable red lasers: How much can I defocus?

Ash, thanks a lot for the helpful reply, it answered all of my concerns, time to get a 200+mw focusable red laser now! edit: Just saw the link to your reviews of two red lasers in your signature, reading them now!
