    New 9mm 445 diodes

No problem ;) The first one is infinity, the second one is probably focused a little closer...

    New 9mm 445 diodes

Cool!, thanks for checking. Most anything I point it at starts smoking before too long :) , but here's a black metal plate:

Oh, okay-- Both that second dot and the long streak move with my camera.

    New 9mm 445 diodes

I assume the AR coating accounts for how difficult it is to see the lens(?). If so, the coating was in-tact when I put it in the holder-- it looked the same as before the acetone. I just took some pictures of the unfocused beam, it looks like I've got a little dust but I nothing that looks like...

    New 9mm 445 diodes

I submerged it in acetone for a few hours and it worked like a charm... then I used a magnifying glass, my fingernail, and a microfiber cloth to get the rest off the outer edge of the lens. The glue was very soft by this point. Still time consuming though... I hope that didn't damage the coating.

    2W+ 445nm - First Build Finsihed

I've been thinking about that... 3W would make me very excited! I have a relative that works at the University of Colorado Physics Dept -- I'll see if they have access to an LPM, maybe I wouldn't have to mail it off...

    2W+ 445nm - First Build Finsihed

Thanks! Hmm... I may, although I'm not sure how much hope there is for it. When I removed it, it wasn't even putting out even the dim light I had right after it burned anymore. Oh and thanks for the rep! :)

    2W+ 445nm - First Build Finsihed

Well, it's done! After much research, shopping, ordering, building and replacing, I've succesfully built my 445nm, and it's beautiful. I feel like I've gotten something from Star Trek :D I must also say I'm a little terrified of it... First off, thanks to the LPF community. I've been amazed by...

Learn From Mistakes That Can Happen To Anybody...

It was the 9mm, and for a few minutes it was beautiful (from behind goggles). No-- I didn't remove the window. (I was nervous taking it out of the packaging, let alone cutting any pieces off). The glue burned the window itself, and by the time I knew what was happening the diode LED'd. :(...

Learn From Mistakes That Can Happen To Anybody...

I'd like to share mine after burning a hole in a poor $100 445nm diode's window. :cryyy: Here's my story: It was my first build, so I handled the diode very carefully while installing it. It worked. I owned a >2W laser... for about 20 minutes. While focusing, the beam suddenly got very weak. I...

    [UPDATE] V4 BlitzBuck, Available Soon!

Re: BlitzBuck V3, Available Soon! While trying to jumper the HI-mode contacts, I think I made contact with my brass ring, attached to the outer pad on the back. :yabbem: Is this a problem? It probably is, but I wanted to check so that I can avoid making even more of a mess while removing the...

    Advice/opinions for ~2A driver; 9mm 445nm build

Okay, great! Thanks for all the help. I've ordered the very attractive looking Survival Laser stainless steel host for 2x 18350 cells. I'll post some photos as soon as it's done! :thanks:

    Advice/opinions for ~2A driver; 9mm 445nm build

I just ordered the 9mm diode and BlitzBuck! :) Okay, thanks. Hmm... This isn't my first experience with electronics, but that sounds like more than I would trust myself with... I'll have to try this when I know what I'm doing. One more question, the BlitzBuck is supposedly a "two-cell"...
