So, I was bored tonight and had my Viasho labby fired up. I decided to take some pictures. After the first photo, there's a small amount of smoke in the air from burning things. You'll see why. :p

This is the head, PSU, and the Vanilla Coke can I was using as a beamstop, so as to not catch things on fire by accident.

The Viasho at ~1.5W through one of LarryDFW's lenses. That focal point is pretty scary. It's around 0.1 or 0.2mm in diameter; the power density's nuts.

This is just the head, still running at 1.5W.

This is my newly cleaned Metrologic 855 outputting 5mW. I like the blue discharge - though I'm not sure that's normal (ahh, so it is; thanks guys), as I can't see into the aperture of my other HeNe. The red construction paper was for cutting down on green reflection to get better shots (we lacked black). I liked the shots without it better.

I turned the Viasho down to 2-3mW to get this photo. I like it... :D

And lastly, all three wavelengths I have. Forgive the lens flare, this was the best of the batch - though I think it's pretty cool looking.

Cheers!

All my HeNe's have that 'blue' looking glow coming out, looks pretty cool IMO. Nice pics!

That metrologic is gorgeous, im well jealous!

Thanks for the pics.

Incredible pics, wouldn't mind having a green lab laser like that to mess around with

Nice job, but I want to see that 1.5W viasho burning :D

Right now it's on its way to Beijing... in a couple weeks I can deliver. :)

yea! I thought you were going to say it melted through the coke can.
1.5W focosed to a pin point with a g-1 lens, I would have believed it:D

The cans make good beamstops because they have huge surface area, are red, and are made of metal. I wasn't trying to melt it - but I'll certainly try. Won't make any guarantees though. :p

That Metrologic is amazing after I cleaned it. I'll have to post some photos of just that one.

Take the plunge and get one, you won't regret it. :D

Sorry for the double post, but this warrants it I think. Apparently Chinese customs has already flagged the package.

Hopefully I still own a 1.5W laser in a couple weeks. :undecided:

The beam was a mix of TEM00 + TEM01 + TEM10, and the beam diameter was off-spec. And it mode-hopped.

I blame the gorillas that shipped it. ><

I think they are the cause of my titan's death >:| Good luck man!

EDIT: how much was it shipped?
