Where can i buy matches for burning?

Hi everyone!
I'm planning to buy a 200mW green, adjustable laser for burning, but i need stuff to burn.
I suppose that y'all have seen the videos of styropyro where he burns matches.
Where can I buy those big flatpacks with like 200 matches?

Do yourself a favour and just buy a small box of matches first. Once you've lit one with a laser it gets very boring very quickly.

May I recommend helium strength black balloons? They go with a hell of a bang (gets next doors dog barking...lol) and are much more fun popping than lighting a match ;-)

with only 200mW of green I suggest you darken them with a black marker-same for baloons. popping and burning is for noobs. you will see what I mean later. Doing such demos may not have the effect you think it will.

you think--'Its neat...look, it lights a match'...

they will be thinking 'Its stupid & way too dangerous and you will put your eye out'

I disagree, on the popping at least.
I'm not into burning stuff but I quite enjoy 'exploding' my balloons. They don't pop, they 'explode' into several pieces with an almighty bang. I'm 50 (2 days ago) and figure I'm getting old when I can't enjoy stuff like that. It may be 'noob' ish, and even childish, but :wtf: if you enjoy it, do it :D

Apart from anything else it always reminds me just how dangerous these things can be, I still find it quite amazing that 'light' can do that.
 
Local drug store or grocery store should have them. I love lighting matches, do it all the time. Do what you like.

Me too. I love to explore and learn how far away my lasers can light matches.

And I am not a teenager, nor am I a noob to lasers.

Lighting matches and popping balloons say nothing about a person but that he loves it. And as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else, feel free to do what you like.

Go to the lobbys of some hotels or diners that allow smoking and they might have some match books laying around :D

My apoligies to the adults who enjoying popping and burning.
My point was there are more things to do and that an teenager will never convince his parents to allow lasers by showing them the burn/pop== some may think they are OK to take to school and/or let thier friends 'play' with it all these will lead to more reports of laser insidents..

I am impressed with popping a black balloon that is inside of a clear one without popping the outer balloon. And when a laser can quickly pop a number of balloons in a long line--wow..

I am just saying that there are many other even more interesting activities aside from those two.. and that you will not convince a parent to buy a teenager a gun if he shows them how good it is at killing animals or breaking the neighbors windows etc.

You are in luck my friend. I have special black laser burning matches. I sell them five for a dollar or 20 for for $5.

Don't be fooled by cheap imitations. These are Wicked Lasers brand matches and they hold the world record for being burned by lasers. No where else will you find more hype, marketing and outright disingenuities than with these special black laser burning matches.

Just pm me for my email addy and I will get these right out to you in time for you to start burning as soon as your laser arrives.

P.S. These Wicked Laser black laser burning matches will also work with other brands of lasers, just not quite as well.

Now listen up, I know some of the less reputable laser forums - I'm not going to mention any of these Laser Pointer Forum names. - have been negging on Wicked Laser brand lasers. Some of them have even made up stories of our lasers exploding just to make us look bad.

First, let me say that none of our lasers have ever exploded!
Second, let me say that we have gotten this problem under control!

We were buying some old stock surplus batteries from 1980 when Li-ion technology was first being tested out and we were getting these batteries for a quarter each. These were a special formula using melamine and fine lead particles mixed with mercury vapor and beryllium powder in a hydrochloride acid gel - completely safe stuff - as long as you didn't charge it too fast.

That's what some of these bozos did. They were trying to use modern chargers that were way to fast for a 1300maH battery and of course they were exploding.

Anyway, that is old news. In case you did t notice, some astronomy group just got in the paper for shining the International Space Station with a couple of floodlights and a 1W 445 Arctic Spider (the most powerful laser you can legally own!) from Wicked Lasers, so we are gonna sell a boatload of these things over the next couple of months. And we are gonna send those guys a ton of swag, even if they are over 12 years-old!

Finally, in answer to your question about whether these matches are gonna explode... I have no idea.
