I believe it was a machining error TBH. That being said thermal performance is still great :)

Re: FS >6W 450nm Laser *AUSTRALIA* - AU$500 OBO
Yeah, the module I ordered had an extended barrel, and the damn thing wouldnt come off :O However... The heat transfer is fine, as the barrel is solid copper and the base of the diode is only a couple of mm from the main sink. Everything that is...
Re: FS >6W 450nm Laser *AUSTRALIA* - AU$600 OBO
it's the 2x 18650 host. It does require spacers for the batteries, or a spring soldered to either of the contact pads. Either my batteries are slightly shorter than usual or the host is slighty too long.
Re: FS >6W 450nm Laser *AUSTRALIA* - AU$600 OBO
Hey it's the Cypreus XXL made by sinner.
Yeah it seems the Aussies have picked up in numbers since I last was active, I only remember blaster and will manner :)
OOH, a new machinist in AUS XD I may get back into building lasers that would be so handy :D I see that you're going to be selling the XXL Cypreus, literally just built one and it'll be up for sale soon :D Best of luck with sales!!!
Hey guys, I have been absent from this forum for AGES now. I was recently going through my "junk" in my room and found a lovely empty host made by Sinner... I have built it with a NUBM44 450nm Laser Diode, running at 4.5A and using a G9 lens. the host takes 2x 18650 batteries and requires...
Re: Price drop! FS: 3.5W Nichia NDB7A75 Laser Diode in Module, Prism Pairs
I'll keep that in mind, Im just looking around for a diode for my hosts that have been sitting around for over a year now. Havent been here in a while and im in no rush, but I'll let you know!
Any MW laser will be extremely visible!
On a serious note... The brightness we perceive is dependent on 2 things: Wavelength and the amount of light (mW etc). Green is your best bet for something that is always visible, with blue coming second.
Theives really are the scourge of the human race. Im not talking bout the kid who steals a lolly, but these fu@#$%s who most probably steal to support an addiction. Sorry to hear the loss, shame you can't report your lasers as stolen as you're not meant to have them :(
I use AS alumina epoxy... Non conductive and keeps the modules in spot FOREVER! Seems to have pretty good heat transfer, as the gap in heatsinks is VERY small.
I've only ever had one diode randomly die... Never broken one myself thankfully :D I never properly ground myself, work on carpet and ESD has never damaged anything i've worked on (including my $700 (at the time) gtx 780s). User error seems to be the death of diodes, which includes letting them...
