Just wanted to update this post to say RA_pierce did in fact build me a pen to the requirements I was looking for. It's a beautiful ~70mw 450nm leadlight! Thanks for everyone's help and another fist pump to this awesome community.

Looking for a pen style or any push button use blue laser pointer. Tried the laserland one for 20 bucks and it arrived dead (or as close to as one could imagine.) Would anybody have a low power blue diode that they could make a decent pointer for me? Thanks!

Those look to be very well made! However, I am looking for a regular button press pen rather than a toggle on/off switch on the back. For simplicity sake and ease of use. Thank you!

I bought 3 of those ebay 445nm pointers. Absolute junk. I am still trying to get my refunds back, after spending ~$15 return shipping each time. That's how bad I wanted a 50mw 445 blue. I tried over and over again. So glad I finally just bought the lazerer, it is on a completely different scale...

My mistake on the double. :) I understand your point on cumulative vs instant. However, I think power is very relevant when it comes to any damage. Many many factors come into play. Shining a 1mw red pointer at dark wall 30ft away is causing cumulative damage? Just keep the powers down low...
