Yeah, the PM's mistaken concept of "herd immunity" got us off to a terrible start. I'd like to think there's been lessons learned but the evidence this far seems to be that nobody's learning anything til it takes one of their own. So many idiots in this country we're treating it like a holiday...
Yeah, if the drone idea was to be put into use it would maybe have to be set times, like when supermarkets close the drones could do a sweep of the stores, etc.
As yet I've been using I.P.A on all incoming packages, does make the ink on labels run, etc. I've also been running an HV arc to pump...
I've been wondering if perhaps there should be arrays of "cancer ray" lasers fitted to drones for low risk sterilisation of commonly touched surfaces.
It's just a seed of a thought in my mind and I have no way at all to try this myself but figured it was worth a discussion on here to guage the...
Thanks :)
I think this could possibly be one of the worst countries to be in during this thanks to how irresponsible our government are being. Up in Scotland we're apparently slightly better at dealing with it than the rest of the UK but overall it seems to be "too little, too late". The...
I've updated my location now, I'm struggling with a broken phone ATM so I'm having trouble adding more, I will return and add much more once this pandemic calms down enough to get my laptop back. Hopefully once all this has passed I will get a chance to be much more involved in the lasering...
Excellent info, cheers very much! That's exactly what I needed to know. I'm not really fussed about using it as a cutter tbh, more just for etching designs into things.
I do get that you can't perfectly merge the beams into a single high wattage straight beam so I understand why it would make a...
Hi, I've checked through search but I'm afraid my knowledge base is seriously lacking when it comes to driving methods for A/M140 diodes.
I have the array from an XJ-A141 projector which has 6x A140 diodes and 18x M140 diodes in 4 series circuits of 6 diodes each. My maths is atrocious but I'm...
I actually got a cheap chinese nasty that turned out to be a peach for the £30 I paid for it. As was noted, it's around 1.6-1.8W but it has a good fine beam. I think I just got lucky and got a good one as it seems the good ones are genuinely pretty decent but the bad ones are awful. Bit of a...
Yeah, that was pretty much what the other guy did and it seemed to work ok for his, he was etching basalt pebbles with little more than a seperate power supply.
What kind of hurdles should I expect to encounter if I do choose to pursue this course rather than just fixing the projector?
A quick...
It's got 6000hrs on it and does work, just with the pink tinge. If it is the green source I imagine it's better as a plaything, if it's just a trivial fix I'll keep it as a projector.
Ahhhh, I'm not allowed to post the link yet but I found a detailed explanation of what the youtube dude did. If this isn't allowed please remove.
