Argon laser - Is this worth of buying?!?! Help

I just finished power supply for a pulsed laser. And yes, it works!

Argon laser - Is this worth of buying?!?! Help

Do I need cooling glass cathode bell? Its very very hot hot!! I will not use this tube for continuous operation. Just for pulsed

Argon laser - Is this worth of buying?!?! Help

I wind 1.5 turn (1.7VAC) and another 1.5 turn. Total voltage without load is 3.4VAC and you can see on the pictures on load voltage drop to perfectly nearly 3 volts. Ammeter show 22A @ 3.15VAC that is 70W power consuption as expected. And everything now see to be perfect, but don't. My MOT is...

Argon laser - Is this worth of buying?!?! Help

If I add another turn, total voltage will be 3.4VAC. That is little too much?

Argon laser - Is this worth of buying?!?! Help

Argon LASER cathode filament is 3VAC and old MOT (microwave oven transformer) high voltage secondary removed, and manually wound 6mm2 (10 AWG) cable. I got 1.3VAC with 1 turn and 1.7VAC with 1.5 turn. I need extract center tap, but I can't get 1.5V between the windings. Question is: Can...

    Remember to exercise those argons!

Can MOT give enough current to laser filament? I know magnetron from microwave need 3V 10A

    Remember to exercise those argons!

I got mine new argon running for 2 hours today on 15.3 mW @ 6.5A:evil:

    Finally!!! LASOS argon laser!!!!

I guess this goggles are perfectly safe for 15 mW. When beam hit in my eye though googles I barely see dot that is orange color. Laser safety goggles that I got with laser are O.D. 5.0 @ 488 - 514 nm I know it's say never look directly into beam but it's for powerful argon 1-5w :tsk:

It is rear surface mirror Everything perfect clear now. Thanks for help. :thanks:

    Finally!!! LASOS argon laser!!!!

I found problem. It is mirror! I remove mirror and lines disappeared But still mystery why perfectly parallel lines no matter when I rotate. I hope you don't mind diachi. It was misunderstand, I am just tired it's 11:00 p.m. I am going to sleep. See ya tomorrow And thanks for help!

It's same, with and without prism

    Finally!!! LASOS argon laser!!!!

when I don't rotate mirror or expanding optic, then I rotate head. and when I rotate mirror or expanding optic, I don't touch head. I tried all possible combination. I rotate head, and my brother rotate optic so that rotate all at once in all direction, always lines are vertical position. Ther...

    Finally!!! LASOS argon laser!!!!

:oops:I am so stupid... they DON'T ROTATE It was misunderstood:thinking: Lines are always vertical no matter I rotate LASER head, or optic or mirror... Sorry

    Finally!!! LASOS argon laser!!!!

There is no other optic in laser head except HR and OC, I cleaned OC and same. I would love that you guys with argon laser make same experiment and see what you get.. Maybe single line argon don't have this. I dont know... I am litle disapointed:yabbem::yabbem:

    Finally!!! LASOS argon laser!!!!

yes they rotate when I rotate head
