Yes, I 100% agree that it is very generous of Jerry and I very much appreciate the offer.
Also, thanks to Jerry for confirming it's picking up body heat from my hand. I'm not an expert on this stuff but I have always hated passing experiences I don't understand off ss "oh well, it just...
I am well aware of that, but thanks for the tip. In addition, I am still interested in what people think may be causing the affect that waving my hand a couple of inches above seems to have.
Picking up heat from my hand or something else?
Thanks Jerry.
I suppose it's possible as shining a bright torch is enough to register a couple of mw so maybe a tiny amount of heat from my hand at 4-5cm is enough to register a very tiny amount - just enough for it to know something is there and tip it to zero.
I have the video, just need to covert it :)
Yes, waving my hand about 1-2 inches above the sensor. I have a video and will post it.
Thanks Jerry. Sounds like it's been hot there. It's spring here and just starting to warm up.
Anyway, I guess I have a decision to make.
Cost of mailing to...
It has me 100% baffled - what I am seeing just makes no sense logically :confused
I thought about the wires and sometimes twisting the wires and/or the female plug around does seem to make the error jump in and out. Then the next time it won't. I plan on replacing the wires and plug anyway to...
I had another play this morning and it gets weirder
The first time I booted up it worked fine for about a minute - I can only guess about accuracy but all of my lasers (175mw pen, 1W, and 2W) and all measured what would be expected. It then went to the MAX error. BUT when I touched...
Hi Jerry,
If the calibration has been reset is it normal that it would start working sometimes - it happens for brief periods. Just got it out now and booted it up and it worked for about 90 seconds and measure my 175mw pen perfectly. Even when it shows the MAX error it seems to measure okay.
I...
Hi,
I was flat out catching up with some work stuff on the weekend - the joys of being self-employed.
Anyway, I'm just about to PM the details.
BTW - I haven't been getting any notifications re new posts here. I got one for the first reply to the thread and nothing since - is that normal...
Thanks Jerry and no worries.
Just sent a PM and also went into Outlook and resent my last email. See what happens.
I'll get back here with the info re the Laserbee when home from work later today.
Thanks
Mick
Hi All,
I have a 3.2W Laserbee II and recently whenever I try to use it is simply shows:
Overflow 3200Mx
I've tried all the basic stuff - new battery, made sure all connections are clean, etc.
The new battery seemed to work and then after about 10 minutes it went back to the overflow error...
Thanks for the info. My lesson for today:thanks:
The thing just died Put it all together properly and took it for a spin and it lasted all of 10 seconds then something went wrong. The output looks like the remnants of a supernova - a dot in the middle with really cool psychedelic patterns...
Hi Jordan,
I tested by placing between negative terminal on battery and the case with the driver and diode semi installed in the S4 Host. I left it that way so I could easily adjust the current setting on the driver. I used the survival driver because I forgot to order a 2.4A driver from you in...
Hi
Thanks for the info. I'm aware of the variability factor with this stuff - sometimes you're lucky and get over spec and sometimes unlucky. Just wondering if there was anything I could have done wrong as it seems really unlucky to get both a driver and a diode under spec - both at about 80%...
Hi all,
I'm currently putting together a NDB7875 (9mm 445nm) with survival S4 host with extended copper heatsink. I'm using survival adjustable current driver I ordered at 1.8A - 2.3A.
I used a drill press to put the driver and brass ring into the pill. I decided I finally needed to get a drill...
I didn't think about just getting a different heatsink made for a regular host. Thanks for that. I suppose 20mm is only 4mm shaved off the inside of the heatsink and should work.
Thanks
Mick
Appreciate the information, I will look into the custom hosts when I get some money to actually afford a CNI module (I hear they are pretty expensive).
Also good to here about the driver voltage. So I take it they would be similar to drivers I have from DTR with a range from 3v - 5v (single...
